The Buddhist Cultural Center Letchworth (BCCL) celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on Saturday, 14th April 2018 at The Free Church Hall, Norton Way, Letchworth. The chief guest was Hon. Deputy High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in The United Kingdom, Mr. Sugeeshwara Gunaratna and the distinguish guests were the veteran musician and actor Mr. Bandula Wijeweera and the famous TV broadcaster, journalist from Sri Lanka Mr. Narada Wijesuriya.

The Buddhist Community Centre Letchworth (BCCL) held the 2017 Katina Ceremony on Saturday 21st October 2017 at the Free Church Hall, Norton Way, Letchworth Garden City. This year the Katina Poojava (Katina offering) was Sponsored by Mr. Lal Perera & Mrs. Manori Pathiranage, Miss. Hirunika Perera, Mr. Kamal Wijwsuriya & Mrs. Imalka Pathiranage, Mr. Nadun Ratnayake & Mrs. Neranja Pathirana, Mr. Mahesh Wijesuriya and their families and friends.

The Poson celebration commenced by observing sil (retreat) by devotees on Saturday,10th June at The Letchworth Buddhist Temple. The sil program was guided by the Chief Incumbent Ven. Dediyawala Wimala Thero., and Ven Sooriyawewa Kusala Thero., covering meditation, Dhamma sermons, Abhidhamma discussion, Buddha pooja and invoking blessings to all. The mid day Dhana (lunch) for maha sangha and sil observers was offered by Mr. and Mrs. Dhammika & Osadhi Eakanayake and friends. A large turnout of devotees observed sil.  

Letchworth Buddhist temple organized a sil day for Dhamma school children on Sunday 21st May 2017 at the temple premises, with the guidance of the Venerable Dediyawal Wimala Thero. the chief incumbent. The day began with the observance of Astangha Seela for children conducted by Ven. Sooriyawewa Kusala Thero, the principal of the Dhamma School. He has organized a series of activities for the day including Meditation, Dhamma sermon, and Dhamma discussion and chanting of Pirith.  The Maha Sangha conducted the midday Buddha Pooja. The midday Dhana (Lunch) for maha sangha and the children observed Sil was offered by the parents of the Dhamma School children. The sill program ended at 2.00 p.m. A large turnout of children observed Sil.
